Mit dem Motto „Came for The vibes, left with a trophy and a backpack“ wurde das Turnier insgesamt gut zusammengefasst. Thank you all for the brilliant teamwork!

*English Version*
It all started with a message: „Wanna join the Peace Bowl?“ And from there we turned into a group that was hyped to connect and ball together. Our schedule put us up against the first team of the Augsburg Lions 1, a strong league team that really made life difficult for us. Despite some good moments and the team dynamic coming together quickly – having met just 40 minutes before kick-off and still working on the defensive strategy – we fell short 18–25. With more time to come together, we faced the Regensburg Phoenix women’s team next. We finally were able to show our individual strengths and teamwork, securing a confident 25–12 win. Finalizing the first day, we faced the Bavariors for second place in the group and a place in the semifinals. We fought through early pressure, built up our ambition and towards the end of the game, we were able to score more confidently, securing a 26–13 victory.
With that, the first day was in the bag! We ended the evening with a campfire alongside Augsburg Storm, a bit of beer pong and an early night. On Sunday morning, we faced the Raiders Tirol in the semifinals. A bit more nervous, we had to adjust our setup to show our collective experience on the pitch and ultimately celebrate reaching the final with a 19–18 victory.
The final match of the tournament brought a rematch of our opening game – we faced the Augsburg Lions 1 once again. However, since the first match we had learnt a great deal, adapted our tactics and teamwork, and were in general more attuned as a team. The confidence we’d built up from the previous matches was evident, so whilst we went into the game with the clear aim of ‘winning the tournament’, we also wanted to have fun and give it our all – and we succeeded. A tight–knit defence, impressive offensive plays, great catches and trick plays led to an early lead, which we were able to hold onto securely. In the end, the scoreboard read a clear 32–13. We are the FLINTA* champions of the second Peace Bowl!
„Came for the vibes, left with a trophy and a backpack“ sums up our tournament perfectly. With that, all that’s left to say is: Thank you all for the brilliant teamwork!
And a special thanks to Augsburg, Lena and Niklas for hosting a fantastic tournament weekend, to Upgear for the great new jerseys and to the Reggio Emilia Hogs for lending their jerseys to us: Un grandissimo saluto e un grazie di cuore agli Hogs Reggio Emilia per le maglie!
